Go underwater without getting wet
A great deal just got better as Atlantis submarines, which is already running a fab $30/$20 adult/keiki kamaaina special started offering kids for free on select tours. Wehn we went, we saw a shark, a couple of turtle and oh so many fish. Check it out at https://atlantisadventures.com/kamaaina/.

Check out “Astronaut” narrated by Ewan McGregor 7 p.m. Sept. 7 at the Hokulani Imaginarium on the Windward Community College campus. Free STEM event
Registration is open for the 2018 Astronaut Lacy Veach Day of Discovery, the free annual science and tech event help at Punahou School. This year the event will be held 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 27. Sign up now. Classes fill up quickly. Hawaii’s Plantation Village hosts the Portuguese Festa 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 22. There will be food, crafts, cultural displays and lots and lots of malassadas.

A congressman’s legacy of family fun
Check out the 3rd annual K. Mark Takai Family Fun Day 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 8, held in honor of the late congressman in the community that he represented and loved. The fun takes place at the Momilani Community Center, 715 Hoomoana St. in Pearl City, with food vendors, keiki games, pony rides and a petting zoo.
