Teach kids about Midway Atoll

Most kids programs are targeted at elementary school kids or high schoolers. There’s not that much out there for the middle school set. On June 5, the Pacific Aviation Museum, in partnership with NOAA and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, is hosting Midway Youth Day, a free program for 6th-9th graders. Kids can learn about the battle that took place at the atoll, 1,300 miles from Oahu, and the preservation efforts happening there today. Registration is required. Call 445-9137 or email Education@PacificAviationMuseum.org.

STEM start to summer

Pacific Aviation Museum Pearl Harbor is hosting Flight Adventures 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 2 with hands-on aviation and STEM activities for kids. Event admission is $5, or free with Museum admission. Also that day will be the Biggest Little Airshow in Hawaii, a event where remote-control airplanes will be zipping overhead. Kids can test their piloting skills with help from the Paradise Flyers Remote Control Aircraft Club. For more information or to purchase tickets, visit PacificAviationMuseum.org/FlightAdventures.
