More lunar new year celebrations

Did you think you missed all the celebrations for the year of the pig? Central Oahu and East Oahu have two more chances to celebrate with a family-friendly event at 5 p.m. Feb. 9 at the Town Center of Mililani and 11 a.m. Feb. 16 at Hawaii Kai Towne Center.

The Mililani event will feature the Asian Lion Dance Team, appearances by Miss Chinatown Hawaii and Miss Chinese Jaycees Court members and a coloring activity for keiki. (https://www.facebook.com/TownCtrMililani/)

At Hawaii Kai Towne Center, you can see the Wah Ngai Lion Dance Association perform and a martial arts demonstration. www.hawaiikaitownecenter.com.

Puppy power

The Hawai’i State Foundation of Culture and the Arts has a free art event each month at the Hawai’i State Art Museum. This month kids (and adults) can get an intro course in painting from the Hawai’i Watercolor Society 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Feb. 10.
