Sports physical freebie

Every year kids who play sports at schools need to get their family doctor to fill out the sports physicals. Kids entering preschool or public school for the first time need them, too. Hitting up the Urgent Care Hawaii for a physical might be caster than making an appointment and trekking across town to your doctor’s office. Log on to ucarehi.com for a coupon for a free 85-piece first-aid kit to take to all those sports events!

Vacation planning?

If you’re planning a summer trip to Orlando and you have a fifth grader in tow, consider a day-trip to Kennedy Space Center. For the second year, Kennedy Space Center is offering free admission to all fifth graders (both incoming and outgoing fifth graders qualify). Get your ticket and more information at: https://www.kennedyspacecenter.com/info/tickets#SpecialOffers. But you’ll need more than just a ticket and your honest word. Vacation planning

It’s nearly the end of the school year. If you’re planning a trip to the mainland and have an incoming or outgoing fourth grader in tow, check out the National Park Service’s Every Kind in a Park program. Fill out some info online and get your fourth grader a year’s free admission to any National Park. Whether your going to take a sunrise drive up Haleakala, explore the melting ice caps of Glacier National Park or camp by Half Dome at Yosemite, there are fabulous experiences for every kid out there.  https://www.everykidinapark.gov/get-your-pass/

Volcanologist for an afternoon

With the spectacular and destructive eruption continuing, the kids’ interest in volcanoes is at an all-time high. Things are a bit too treacherous on the Big Island, but seize this teachable moment with a trip to the Bishop Museum’s Science Adventure Center. The volcano display has never resonated so loudly or seemed so relevant as it does now!
